Thank you to everyone who volunteered this year and to everyone who made it to the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet! You were all so great at Refuge Trivia and I should have realized that our volunteers are all geniuses! Congratulations to Bart Theiler for being the Volunteer of the Year! He helped with so many refuge events and tasks this year that he went from receiving his 25 hour pin last year to being 1.5 hours away from his 100 hour pin this year. With Bart’s time, dedication, and artistic talents he made a huge difference to the refuge. Thank you Bart!

100th Anniversary Challenge Coins and First Place Parade Float Crew: Bart Theiler, Wendy Schneider, Steve Norman, John Lyons, Sue O’Brien, Bruce Nicklay, Judy Shepard
Prairie Island Dike Clean-up – October 10th from 10 am -12 pm join us in cleaning-up the refuge along the Prairie Island Dike. We start at McNally Boat Landing (next to the Prairie Island Campground in Winona) to hand out equipment (gloves, picker-upper sticks, trash bags) to pick up litter. You will be assigned a half-mile section of the dike, so please wear sturdy shoes/boots and dress for the weather. We will cancel if it is raining.
