September Friends Meeting and Upcoming Refuge Events

We have several upcoming events and volunteer opportunities including, BaseCamp, Friends Meeting, Project COMPASS, and Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.

Celebrate with Friends of Refuge Headwaters, Sanborn Canoe, Prairie Island Campground, Frozen River Film Festival and the Izaak Walton League this weekend August 16-18th! Also, there are still spots open to greet people at the Friend’s booth from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. if you’d like to participate.

The next activity is Friends regular monthly meeting this Thursday, August 22nd beginning at 4:15 pm in the Refuge Office (102 Walnut Street, Suite 205, Winona). We are still currently looking for volunteers for Project COMPASS fishing event on Wednesday, September 11th. Please let Jennie Froehly know if you can volunteer at [email protected] or 507-494-6234. You do not need to reregister to help if you have already registered with myself.

Join us for the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 for Qdoba dinner, Volunteer of the Year award, and Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge trivia (optional).
