May Friends Meeting and Upcoming Events

Refuge Friends and Volunteers, please click for the Friends of the Refuge Headwaters minutes from the April 27 meeting and agenda for the upcoming May 25 meeting. Everyone is invited to attend and participate in the discussion. Next Thursday’s meeting will be held from 4:15 – 5:30 p.m. at the Refuge office, 102 Walnut Street, Suite 205, Winona.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 21 for another great Damsels and Dragons presentation by naturalist and photographer Dan Jackson. The presentation will be held at the Winona County History Center beginning at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcomed and appreciated. Click here for the flyer.

Artist in the Refuge-Plein Air Event Trempealeau NWR 

Friends of Trempealeau Refuge and the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge invites everyone to join us on Saturday, June 3rd, for our Artist in the Refuge-Plein Air Event.

Enjoy the outdoors and watch as artists paint while hiking a trail! Refuge visitors are invited to walk Pine Creek Dike and Kiep’s Island Dike Trails and are encouraged to engage with the participating artists that will be creating plein air art from 7:00 am – 11:00 am along these two different locations.

From 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, artists and visitors are invited to the Outdoor Wonder Learning Center, for a social with snacks and beverages. Artists will set up their easels to display their mornings work and share their creative process.
