Earth Day Celebration: The Friends/Refuge will have a table at the Winona Earth Day Celebration taking place on Saturday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help staff the table, please let Mary Stefanski ([email protected]) know if you are interested.

Internship Opportunity: The Friends of Pool 9 are working with the Refuge’s McGregor District to hire a summer intern to assist the visitor services and biology programs. Full details here if you know anyone interested.

Calling all Plein Air Artists: The Friends of Trempealeau NWR are accepting applications from plein air artists to participate in an event on Saturday, June 3. Applications are due April 15. Additional information is available here.

La Crosse Visitor Center: The La Crosse Visitor Center located at N5727 County Road Z, Onalaska, will begin Saturday open hours tomorrow April 1 and continue through October 28. The Center will be open Tuesday – Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. They will be closed Sunday, Monday and Federal Holidays.

Youth Conservation Corps: If you know any 15-18 year old youth who like to work outside, please pass along the application for the YCC crew in Winona. Applications are due April 14.
