Areas Closed Due to Flooding
Due to high water levels on both the Mississippi and Trempealeau Rivers, Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge (TNWR) will be closed to ALL PUBLIC ENTRY beginning at 3:30 pm, Thursday April 20th. Public safety is our first priority, and we appreciate your patience during this time. We look forward to seeing you back at the Refuge when it’s safe to do so!

The following boat landings are currently closed to vehicular access: Indian Slough, Beef Slough, and Pontoon Slough located on Hwy 25 between Wabasha, MN and Nelson, WI; Peterson Lake and Halfmoon located near Kellogg, MN; Weaver at Weaver, MN; Verchota and McNally on the Prairie Island Dike near Minnesota City, MN; and Mertes’ Slough on Hwy 54/43 near Winona, MN.
