Volunteers are needed Wednesday Jan 4 and Wednesday Jan 11 to help with invasive buckthorn removal at McNally Landing. Biologist Froehly will be cutting buckthorn from 9am to 3pm each day, though volunteers can choose to help for half a day, or even a couple hours—any time is helpful! Volunteers will be pulling cut buckthorn out of the woods and piling it to be burned at a later date. Protective equipment including hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, and gloves will be provided. Volunteers should wear winter boots, durable outerwear, and be prepared for the weather (if bad weather or frigid temps are forecasted, we will cancel by noon on Tuesday). Volunteers should bring water, lunch, and snacks.
To RSVP, or if you have any questions please email Biologist Froehly ([email protected])
