TREMPEALEAU REFUGE

Join Wendy Schneider (retired high school teacher and Minnesota Master Naturalist) and Steve Winter (Wildlife Biologist for the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge) for a fun bike ride and hike through the refuge.  We will see beautiful fall colors and identify migrating birds and waterfowl.

Please bring your own bike and meet in the parking lot at the Trempealeau Wildlife Refuge Entrance.  See directions below.

The bike ride is limited to 10 participants with good to excellent biking skills.  Please RSVP to Steve Winter at 507.494.6214 (office), 402.310.5460 (mobile) or [email protected] (e-mail).

Directions from Winona:  Take the Interstate Bridge to Wisconsin, turn right onto County Rd 35 for 5.7 miles until you see the Refuge Sign.  Turn right on W. Prairie Rd for about 1 mile to the bend in the road, turn right to enter the refuge and continue for less than a half mile, through the gate entrance and meet at the parking lot to the right where we will begin our ride.  If there is rain in the forecast, the ride will be canceled.
