Volunteers Needed for Project Compass Fishing Events

It has been a long-standing tradition for the Refuge to partner with Project Compass to offer annual fishing events for clients of the program. This is always a heart-warming and memorable experience for those who participate. This spring, we will be fishing with the Project Compass on Wednesday, May 29 from 5:00 – 6:15 p.m. at the Huff Street fishing dock. We will also work with them on Monday, June 3 from 5:00 – 6:15 p.m. for the annual Friends picnic and fishing event held at West Lake Winona.

If you would like to help bait hooks, take off fish, distribute worms, fix broken lines, etc. please let Mary Stefanski know by email at [email protected] or phone at 507-494-6229. We currently have over 30 people signed up for each event and could use the extra hands.
